Playbook Disclaimer
This page explains important limits on how information and services provided through Playbook should be understood.
It should be read together with the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, Community Standards, and other documents available through the Trust Center.
General Information Only
Playbook is a cultural and creative archive.
Information presented through the Service is provided for general informational, archival, documentary, cultural, and community purposes.
Nothing on Playbook should be treated as legal, financial, tax, investment, medical, authentication, appraisal, valuation, conservation, or other professional advice.
Where professional advice is important, users should consult an appropriately qualified professional.
User-Submitted Information
Much of the material available through Playbook may be submitted by users.
User Content may contain mistakes, incomplete attribution, disputed history, inaccurate dates, incorrect provenance, or other errors.
Unless Playbook expressly states otherwise, publication on Playbook does not mean that Playbook has independently verified every factual statement, attribution, ownership claim, creator identity, date, place of origin, historical account, or provenance record.
Users should independently verify information where accuracy is important.
No Authentication, Ownership, or Valuation Guarantee
The appearance of a work, object, photograph, artifact, description, or provenance claim on Playbook does not by itself certify:
- authenticity;
- legal ownership;
- authorship;
- copyright status;
- trademark status;
- provenance;
- condition;
- rarity;
- historical importance;
- market value; or
- suitability for purchase, sale, insurance, investment, or other commercial decisions.
Playbook's moderation and review systems are designed to support platform integrity, not to replace expert authentication, legal due diligence, or professional appraisal.
Human-Made Content Review
Playbook maintains a Human-Made Standard for eligible creative content.
Automated systems, metadata, provenance signals, and human review may be used when evaluating submissions, but no detection or review method is perfectly accurate.
A moderation decision does not constitute a legal determination about authorship, ownership, fraud, copyright, or any other legal right.
Intellectual Property
Playbook may review copyright, trademark, impersonation, or other intellectual-property complaints under its Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy.
Playbook's moderation or complaint process does not replace a court, regulator, trademark office, copyright office, or other competent authority.
A decision to host, restrict, remove, restore, or review content should not be interpreted as a final legal ruling on the underlying rights of the parties.
No Endorsement
The presence of a creator, brand, company, institution, product, object, work, link, reference, or third-party name on Playbook does not by itself imply sponsorship, partnership, approval, endorsement, or affiliation with Playbook.
Likewise, Playbook's documentation of cultural or historical material does not necessarily mean that Playbook endorses the views, conduct, claims, or practices associated with that material.
Third-Party Links and Services
Playbook may contain links or references to third-party websites, services, stores, platforms, or resources.
Those services are operated independently and may have their own terms, privacy practices, security standards, availability, and content.
Playbook is not responsible for third-party services outside its reasonable control, subject to any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Service Availability
Playbook aims to operate reliably, but the Service may occasionally be unavailable, interrupted, delayed, changed, or affected by maintenance, technical defects, network failures, security events, third-party providers, or circumstances outside Playbook's reasonable control.
Playbook does not promise that every feature, archived item, recommendation, link, or piece of content will remain available indefinitely.
Moderation and Safety Systems
Playbook uses moderation, reporting, blocking, rights-review, and other safety systems to support the integrity of the Service.
These systems can produce false positives, false negatives, delays, or disagreements about context.
Playbook does not guarantee that every violation will be identified immediately or that prohibited material can never appear on the Service.
Changes and Current Information
Playbook, its features, policies, standards, and procedures may change over time.
Users should refer to the current published versions in the Trust Center rather than relying on an old screenshot, cached copy, quotation, or third-party summary.
Mandatory Rights Remain
Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes, restricts, or waives any consumer protection, statutory right, warranty, remedy, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.
If this Disclaimer conflicts with the Terms of Use or a mandatory legal requirement, the Terms of Use and applicable law control to the extent of that conflict.
